A Double Acceptance

Last week, I was invited to submit to Wily Writers as an author. Just getting the invitation was an honor for me. I've wanted my work to go up on their website ever since I discovered the group at RadCon2009.

An invite to submit is never an automatic acceptance (I am not Stephen King and Neil Gaiman's unholy love child – yet). I submitted two stories and both were accepted for the site.

"Honoring the Dead" will appear on the Wily Writers site in text and audio MP3 on May 17th. - War is hell. No one knows that better that Guard Commander Waithe. What people do not talk about is the hell that comes after for those in command who survive. Not one to shirk his duty, Waithe performs his duty and honors his dead.

"Nothing Left to Salvage" will appear on the Wily Writers site in text and audio MP3 in the June to July timeframe. - Esda and Seairth believe they have found the salvage of a lifetime. It is a derelict ship that promises riches and an easy life. What they find is a horror beyond imagining that will end their salvaging days forever.

It looks like your success broke their website, though I'm checking it out because it looks very neat. Congratulations on your acceptances. I'm really enjoying watching your rejection/acceptance progress. I sometimes worry about posting anything but good news on my own blog, but you make it look professional.

Unfortunately, the database problem is all on the admin side of things and they can't do anything about it.

That's the internet all over, isn't it? Every time I open my own site and it works, I exclaim in joy. I hope they can get it fixed without too much downtime, I feel for them.
